  • My husband and I had such a fantastic experience at studio 23. From our first contact with Pippa we knew we had found a really great studio we could trust, she was kind, thoughtful and very accommodating. Due to breast feeding I had to move my appointment a few times and then had a premature baby who needed to be with me at all times which they kindly facilitated. Our designs turned out exactly as we had hoped and Dave was a complete professional. The studio was very clean and everything was spotless during the tattoo which is very important to us as doctors. We never felt pressured or rushed into any decisions and thus we knew the team had our best interests at heart.   • At the beginning of December I entered a raffle to win a full days tattooing with David as Studio 23. To my delight I actually won, so I got together some ideas and forwarded them to Pippa to see if what I had chosen would work within the time slot. Long story short I had my full day tattooing at Studio 23 yesterday with David. I’ve got to say it’s the best thing I’ve ever won. Everyone at the studio looked after me unbelievably and nothing was an issue. The first 90 minutes was spent finalising the design and making up the stencils. Once done it was roughly 5.5hrs of tattooing. I’d like to add at this point that I hate the thought of needles under my skin, however the calmness and atmosphere in the studio completely chilled me out to the point where I could quite easily have nodded off. I’ve got to say the time flew by and I had such a laugh with everyone there. Considering it was a raffle win I wasn’t treat any different and was made to feel really welcome. All in all the day was an absolute winner and I am already planning my next addition. Can’t thank Pippa and David enough for their time, care, advice and professionalism. Definitely worth the nearly 2 hour drive from Harrogate. Any one thinking of getting a tattoo done I can highly recommend Studio 23.

  • My first tattoo and an amazing overall experience. Dave and Pippa provided a great experience for me from first interaction on Instagram to doing the tattoo. Pippa was great when I had a fuzzy idea of what I wanted doing, she “got it” despite my poor description via email, quickly sorted out an appointment and sent through lots of information before the day. On the day I was welcomed by Dave into their studio, which was a nice and relaxing space to get tattooed in. It was clean, and hygiene was paramount. Dave took me through the steps they take to make sure their work environment is clean - he then very quickly drew up the design directly on my arm, Pippa provided some design thoughts also and we got underway for a long session. The ambiance was relaxed and had some good chats with Dave and Pippa as I was getting tattooed. The time flew by, and at the end of the day I had an unbelievably detailed and well designed tattoo on my arm. Pippa and Dave took me through aftercare and what to do. I’m already in the process of designing my next tattoo, so look forward to the next time I visit Studio 23 (later this year I imagine!)

As someone getting my first tattoos I was pretty nervous and Pippa was very reassuring and helpful throughout the booking process, answering my questions and giving advice. On the day, Dave was brilliant. Really welcoming and helped to put me at ease while we chatted through and tweaked the designs. It was a really relaxed vibe and the studio is a lovely space. I am so pleased with the end result and will definitely be booking in again.

  • First ever tattoo at 53 years of age, really late to the party! Studio 23 was recommended by a friend with lots of ink, I was looking for an artist who could do fine line work, to copy the ink paw prints of my dog, we lost her last year Abilene wanted to be able to carry her with me, and they didn’t disappoint. Pippa was answering all my many questions, nothing was too much trouble, and all answers came with a smile! Beautiful private studio, a wonderful calm space, clean, mellow and comfortable. The brilliant Dave did my work, making sure everything was right before he started working, making sure I was comfortable and I was happy with the art. Both Dave and Pippa are amazing, friendly and very talented, if you’re looking for something of your own that means the world to you, I couldn’t recommend them enough. The photo doesn’t do justice to the work, but the tattoo looks exactly like the prints. Couldn’t be happier.
